[Sticky] Membership Changes & Rank Progression

Field Reserve and Field Command represent two different career paths within the WarCommons rank system.

Field Reserve
Field Reserve is the free community membership. Its progression is:
Private – Private First Class – T/5 – Corporal – Sergeant – T/4 – T/3 – Staff Sergeant – Technical Sergeant – Master Sergeant – First Sergeant

First Sergeant is the highest rank available to Field Reserve members.
A Field Reserve member may continue accumulating ASR beyond that threshold, but additional ASR does not unlock the Field Command ranks.

Field Command
Field Command is the paid membership. A new Field Command member begins at Warrant Officer, Junior Grade (WOJG) and can progress through the complete Command hierarchy.

Changing membership
Changing membership begins a new career track.

When moving between Field Reserve and Field Command, the rank-related ASR balance is reset and the appropriate starting ASR for the new membership is awarded. This keeps the two career paths separate and ensures that a member does not carry a previous career's rank progression into the new one.

Your permanent Service Points and achievements and medals are separate from this system and remain part of your community record.
