Terms of Service for WarCommons

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WarCommons website and its sites and services (the “Site”). By visiting or using the Site you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Editorial Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Ownership and operator

WarCommons is owned and operated by Nick Ravenshade, based in the Netherlands. The Site is currently operated by an individual rather than a registered company. Where registration, tax, or invoicing details are required for commercial arrangements, we will provide them at the time such arrangements are agreed.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and responsibly. You must not post or transmit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable content. You must not attempt unauthorized access to the Site, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer or bypass security measures, or scrape content without written permission. We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.

Intellectual property and permitted use

All content on the Site, including text, images, graphics, logos, code, and multimedia, is owned or licensed by WarCommons and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view, print, or download content for personal, non‑commercial use only. Any other use, reproduction, republication, retransmission, or distribution without prior written permission is prohibited.

Image licensing and attribution
Images and visual media published on the Site are used under public domain or Creative Commons licences (primarily CC BY and CC BY‑SA) or are otherwise licensed to WarCommons. Each image carries an on‑page credit showing the creator, source, and licence with a link to the original item. If you believe an image is used without appropriate permission, contact info@warcommons.com and we will review and remediate promptly.

Accounts, newsletters, and paid services

If the Site offers accounts, memberships, or paid services, you must provide accurate information and keep account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Paid features may renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal; refund and cancellation terms will be described at purchase. We reserve the right to refuse or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Advertising, sponsored content, and external links

The Site may display advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate links. Sponsored content and advertisements will be clearly labeled. Editorial content remains independent of commercial arrangements. External links may lead to third‑party sites; we are not responsible for their content or practices. Corrections, complaints, and copyright notices

To report factual errors, email info@warcommons.com. For unresolved editorial concerns, email info@warcommons.com. For copyright takedown notices or legal inquiries, email info@warcommons.com and include a clear claim of ownership, the URL of the allegedly infringing material, and contact details for follow‑up; we will respond and remediate as required by law.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, WarCommons disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error‑free operation. WarCommons will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid us for services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WarCommons, its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third‑party rights.

Termination and modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time without notice. We may also refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. Disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
